Traveling to the Bahamas

As I have explained in my blog posts, the Bahamas is a wonderful place to visit when you would like to go on vacation. But what exactly do you need in order to go there? What kind of currency do they take? Do they take Visa? Do you need a passport? You will need to know these important questions before you would like to travel to the Bahamas.

If you are going to the Bahamas for tourism, you do not have to have a visa.  But if you are going there to work, you must have a visa. For currency, if you have a negotiable instrument that's worth more than ten thousand dollars, you must declare it. The same goes for if you were leaving the country. As for transportation, you can get to the Bahamas by cruise or by plane. You can stay in the Bahamas for as long as 8 months without a visa. The price to get there by plane ranges from $300 to $800. The Bahamas is the third most expensive country to stay in. Most of the places to stay in the Bahamas are resorts or hotels. The resorts are usually not very cheap to stay in as they all have wonderful scenery. Usually how it goes is that the more beautiful the scenery and the more expensive the price.

When you travel to the Bahamas, one place to start off with visit would be Atlantis Paradise Island. As it is expensive, it is one of the most top resorts in the Bahamas. This resort contains a water park and many out-door attractions like swimming with sharks. Another place I recommend visiting is one of the most famous parts of the Bahamas. Nassau is one of the main attractions in the Bahamas as it is also one of the most known parts of the Bahamas. You can swim with the dolphins and explore the Ardastra Gardens. Paradise island is five kilometers away from Nassau.

You could also visit the Nassau Straw Market!

The straw market is one of the most historic parts of the Bahamas. Their shops include souvenirs and items that are made by the straw that locals use to braid or weave. Another place to visit in Nassau would be the Forts of Nassau. This fort was used to fight against invaders back in the 1700s. It is still there to remind people that the British ruled the Bahamas. There is a beautiful beach to explore called Cancer Beach. This beach is located in Exuma. This beach is also where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed!

If you wanted to stay at a villa in the Bahamas, it would cost about $284 per night just for one bedroom. If you have a two-bedroom villa it started at around $730 each night. If you stayed a week at the Bahamas, I would say this costs around $5000 USD to $10000 USD.
Staying in the Bahamas for a week would be a great experience if you need some time to relax and need a break from your job or something else that is stressing you out. One day, I myself hope to get to travel to the Bahamas to see what it's like with my own eyes!

  1. Hello Jordy! After reading your post, it makes me want to travel to the Bahamas more. You did a good job in explaining the requirements one needs in order to travel. Also, you did a nice job in providing images of places one can go visit and giving a good explanation on the expenses of a typical trip to the Bahamas. Overall, you had a great format and keep up the good work.
