My name is Jordy Rodriguez and I welcome you to my Blog. I a(m) an 18 year old college student who attends Georgia Gwinnett College. I enjoy playing video games and also building them as a hobby. On a regular day, even if COVID-19 did not exist right now, I stay at home and play games because to be honest, I am not the social type. I do enjoy talking to people but I'm not the type to talk first. 

I attended Brookwood High school and stayed there all four of my years then eventually graduated and attended Georgia Gwinnett College. I have two siblings, one old, one young, leaving me in the middle. My dad is from Mexico and my mom is from North Carolina. I grew up learning English and never learned Spanish but my dad speaks it fluently. I look forward to writing more blogs in the future!

 The Bahamas has existed since 300 AD but it was never really called the Bahamas, it was just a regular island that was discovered by people that came from the island which is now known as Cuba. At the time, Cuba did not have its name. Going further in time around 900 AD to 1500 AD, people know as Lucayans settled in the Bahamas. In 1492, Christopher Columbus had arrived at the island of San Salvador. Columbus had described the Bahamas as the islands of the shallow sea. By the time Columbus arrived in the Bahamas, about 40,000 were living in the Bahamas. Getting more in depth with the Bahamas

      As I have spoken in my last two posts about the Bahamas, the Bahamas is probably my number one favorite to talk about out of all the other countries in the Caribbean. The population today has more than 330,000 people living in the Bahamas. 85% of those people are of African descent. Most people that live in the Bahamas speak English as English is their primary language. There is another language that is spoken mostly by immigrants that came from Haiti. This language is called French Creole. The Bahamas is located off the east coast of Florida which is located in the U.S. and the northeast of Cuba. Where you should travel if you would like to go to the Caribbean - Blog Post #2

The Caribbean has many countries that you could explore but if I could choose any country to explore, I would have to pick the Bahamas. The Bahamas is such a lovely and clean place to visit. The religion there is pretty, and the people there are also amicable. The food is very delicious and the atmosphere of the Bahamas is very relaxed.  As the Bahamas is an Island, their diet consists are mostly of fish which includes crab or shellfish, or even farm food like potatoes and rice. Sometimes they'll even serve fried chicken! The weather is also great especially during the winter as the temperature doesn't really drop below 60 degrees. They also hold a carnival called the Junkanoo Carnival which is apart of the Bahamian culture. This carnival begins every year at the end of April and ends at the start of May.        You can scuba dive and go snorkeling with the crystal clear water.
